The Smurfs 2 – You’ll Get Smurf’d Again

The Smurfs 2Great news for the Smurfs – they are going to Smurf you again in The Smurfs 2. Jordan kerner will once again take the helm as the producer for the sequel.  Jordan Kerner’s pedigree includes both “Inspector Gadget” movies as well as “Snow Dogs” and the delightful “Charlotte’s Web”  At the time of the announcement there was no mention of the cast for The Smurfs 2 so we do not know if Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays and Hank Azaria will reprise their roles but it’s hard to imagine The Smurfs 2 without a Gargamel.

The Smurfs 2 – Release Date

According to Sony The Smurfs 2 should hit the big screens on August 2nd 2013.  This announcment comes after the first Smurfs movie grossed over $135 million in less than two weeks of worldwide release.  This has out performed all expectations which projected no more than $30 million for it’s domestic premiere and this is in spite of the collective efforts of so called film critics everywhere who tried so valliantly to trash the film.  A really pointless excercise, these critics,  telling adults how bad it is when it’s aimed for children who are going to pester the heck out of you until you take them to see it.

This news will send the toy industry into over drive as you can expect a Smurftastic Christmas with your wallet completely Smurfed out.

We’ll keep you up to date with developments as we hear of them so might be an idea to bookmark this page.
